Demco SBS Towed Car Conversion Kit Installation - 2018 Ford Explorer- Video

Demco SBS Towed Car Conversion Kit Installation - 2018 Ford Explorer

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the Demco Towed vehicle Conversion. Now this is gonna be if you had a Stay-IN-Play DUO which is a great braking system but you've upgraded your coach to air brakes, this is gonna allow you to convert to an Air Force One and that way you can get air brakes working on your towed vehicle. So throughout a flat tow vehicle's lifespan sometimes you end up upgrading either the vehicle or the coach, and that means not everything plays ball. So if you've gone to a larger coach with air brakes then unfortunately the Stay-IN-Play DUO is not going to be working. So instead of taking out the entire system you can simply buy the conversion which is gonna give you the main unit here as well as the lines to hook up to the front, your air line, also your fitting here, and also the tank and fittings to hook up to the air supply on your RV. Now this is a pretty simple system especially if you have everything in place, You just kind of cut a few wires. more

Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit Installation - 2019 Ford Explorer

Shane: Hi, everyone. Shane here with etrailer.com. Today I have a 2019 Ford Explorer and I want to walk through how to install the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line. What the charge line is designed to do is while your vehicle's being flat-towed, it allows your RV to trickle charge your battery. The reason you would want this is because the breaking system that is required in any vehicle being flat-towed is going to draw power from the battery. So adding the battery charge line, again allows your motor home to charge the battery while the braking system is pulling power from it.First thing we need to do, if you don't have your fascia removed, it's going to make it easier if you install this while your fascia is off, like when you're installing any other components for your flat tow set up. more

Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit Installation - 2015 Ford Explorer- Video

Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit Installation - 2015 Ford Explorer

Ryan: Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer.Today on our 2015 Ford Explorer, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles. So, the reason for a charge line kit is really simple. Whenever you're flat towing down the road, and every time your braking system operates, it's going to use the Explorer's battery power. So if you tow for a long period of time, the battery can potentially wear down and be dead once you arrive at your destination. That's not going to happen with the charge line kit, because that's going to, essentially, more or less trickle charge that battery and keep it charged up. That way, the braking system don't drain it.So, although a really simple component, in my opinion, it's a really important one because the last thing you want to do after a long trip is disconnect your Explorer and come to find out that the battery is dead. Then you got to go through the trouble of finding some jumper cables, potentially bothering somebody else to give you a hand, find a jump box. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 1996 Ford Explorer- Video

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 1996 Ford Explorer

Today we are going to install part number 90195 from Tekonsha, the P3 Brake Controller. We are also going to install along with it part number ETBC7. And this will all be installed on a 1996 Ford Explorer. To begin our install, we are actually going to start with the rear of our vehicle and then work our way forward. First off, we are going to install our bracket that actually holds our 7-pole in place. There are substitute brackets that you can use that this will go onto and mount onto the hitch tube itself. However, this particular 7-pole does not really work that good you have to get some extra-long screws and make new holes in the bracket. But in this case, it makes things a little easier and probably a little bit nicer. So we will go ahead with this bracket here that comes factory with it. We will drill out a half-inch hole, which will work perfect with the carriage bolt with a half-inch square hole in the bottom of the bumper. And we will end up with the bracket about right there. We have got our bracket in a bench vise and we will go ahead and put in a quarter-inch pilot hole first and follow it with a half-inch bit. We will our bolt into the bumper and then we will go ahead and install our bracket. And then we will put on the nut and then tighten it down and use an extra hand to hold the bracket while you tighten down the nut and bolt. All right, we will go ahead and install our 7-pole into the bracket. more
